ADJUNCT EMDR THERAPY
Are you a therapist who’s doing great work with your clients, but a problem feels stuck and your client would benefit from targeting this in a focused way?
Perhaps your client states that something profound has yet to change. Maybe your client now cognitively understands new things, yet their body is still confused or other symptoms seem stuck, so you’re curious about how adjunct EMDR intensive therapy can help.
We can work together to create a treatment plan that best meets your clients’ needs.
What is Adjunct EMDR Therapy?
Adjunct EMDR Therapy is when two therapists collaborate to provide comprehensive therapeutic care for a client. A client who has been working with their primary therapist will begin to work with an adjunct (secondary) therapist on a specific problem area for a specific amount of time.
The sessions can occur concurrently – whereby the client continues to meet with the primary therapist while meeting with the secondary therapist at a separate time. Another option is for the client to take a brief pause with their primary therapist while they meet with an EMDR therapist on a specific problem area for a specific amount of time. The client returns to their primary therapist upon completion of the adjunct EMDR therapy.
